ouch! my poor aves! i totally did that to my wrist with a pan of brownies. it definitely left a scar, but it's faded over the years, so unless you know it's there, you can't see it :)
Oh no! Poor guy! It's such a boy thing to want a scar. When I was getting ready for my Junior prom I bent over to pick something up off my bathroom floor and accidentally put my chin right on the hot curling iron. I had a big red and raw burn all night. Luckily it didn't leave a scar.
